Liam and Hayley

Okay the lead photo is Hayley and her horse Maddie, but Liam and Hayley are both old friends of Chromatic Bros. photographer Nick, and so you will see him in lots of these photos in the wedding party too. Sven shot the wedding for the lovely couple, with Nick shooting as well when he wasn't busy hanging with the boys and enjoying the day. It was also fun meeting a lot of Liam's extended family who came across from Ireland to liven up the festivities!

Liam and Hayley were married on a lovely summer's day at Soljan's Winery in Kumeu, with Hayley having hair and makeup done at Dry & Tea in the city.  A special trip was made via their house on the way to the ceremony to visit Maddie, the (second?) love of Hayley's life. Sven and Nick both had a great time, enjoying the interesting shooting opportunities at Soljans around the vineyards and wine barrels, and enjoyed the good food and wine.

Alexey & Anastasia

Alexey and Anastasia had a nice small wedding with close friends and family, as Anastasia just arrived from Russia. Despite being a cold winter's day, with a little rain floating around, we really enjoyed shooting their wedding, and they were great fun to work with! We covered their ceremony before heading into town for some posed photos in the Domain - heading straight for cover under the gazebo. After some group photos we let the others escape to a warmer location but persisted with Alexey and Anastasia in the cold a bit longer!

We explored around the winter gardens, but being mid-winter, everything was locked up early so we found some spots around the outside for fun and playful shots. With the rain getting heavier and the evening getting darker we relocated into town. Our umbrella came in handy as we took a few photos on High Street, before going to the restaurant where they had a very pleasant fire to warm up by and dry up the rain spots.

Thanks to Alexey, and Anastasia in particular, for braving the cold and making this a really enjoyable shoot!

Oscar & Sally

We had a lot of fun shooting this wedding, although it was full of challenges and learning experiences, as much of the ceremony and reception was spoken in Korean! Luckily we could figure out well enough what was going on, got all the important shots, and also got to enjoy something different, which keeps things interesting! The ceremony was held outside in the bright sunshine, which provides further photographic challenges, rather than linguistic. It was held on impressive grounds, with all the decorations and food provided by volunteers, and we were very happy to receive our own lunch boxes full of interesting Korean snacks! Oscar and Sally were good sports, after the reception lunch we explored around the grounds a little before heading off to a local beach for the setting sun. Time was limited before their family dinner engagement, but we got some interesting shots that we were very happy with.
